Maier Family Maternity Photos | Spokane | Bowl & Pitcher

Motherhood, parenting, family life - it's all complex and beautiful and nuanced. And it takes a village, this I know for true. But not just to raise our children, but to keep each other happy and sane and no alone. Enter my dear friends, the Maiers. I am beyond thankful for the mother heart of my friend Stephanie and the determined and generous spirit of Mike. Steph is honest and vulnerable, which allows the rest of us to let our hair down and get real about the take out, compression socks, booger noses, and so on. As Mike and Stephanie welcome baby number three, their circle of family and friends is holding them up in love and support. As you can tell, Paige and Carter are SO EXCITED about baby brother. It's crazy to think that we all get to dote on this new little being within the coming days. Thank you, friends, for making the trek to Spokane to bless me with the opportunity to photograph you!

Easter 2016 | Family Photography | Spokane

I really just love Easter. Last year I missed Easter with Marlow while I was in New York spending it with my sister. It was so much fun to see how much the experience with her changes each year. How much longer she can sit through church. How much more she wants to lead us in prayer at every meal. How much she enjoys being with family. How much she enjoyed running after eggs and not just stopping at each one to eat whatever was inside before moving to the next.

Mostly I am just so thankful for Easter. Thankful that we get four days off to spend reflecting from Good Friday through after Easter. Thankful that the miracle of Easter never ceases to amaze me and bring me a new lessons each year. I'm not the greatest with words, but I will share this post by a friend titled Easter Sunday Faith in a Friday World which especially moved me this year. Wishing you hope this spring!

Westley's 6 Month Photos | Spokane

You guys, this post was pure torture! Seriously. You know why?! Because all the CUTE! How could I possibly narrow down the photos?! All the different expressions, the rolls, the falling over, the animal buddies, omg!! I just can't handle it. Also, Westley has a very special place in my heart having done his birth photos and now all his first year milestones. It's such a joy and a treat to watch him grow over the year - how is it flying by so fast?! Again, another reason why I am in love with the Baby's First Year Collection. So please, on this afternoon, take a break and enjoy the pure awesomeness of six month old Westley! P.S. Nakey baby rolls at the very end. You're welcome.

Kaedence | Newborn Photos | Studio Photography in Spokane

And baby makes 7! You heard me, seven. And sweet baby Kaedence is absolutely the apple of everyone's eye (for proof see the very last photo which was completely unplanned). I'm so thankful to have photographed Amber and Josiah's maternity session here, and then got to meet their adorable new addition, as well as the rest of their family, for her newborn photos. Everyone was such troopers as I maneuvered all around in my studio room. Meanwhile, I could photograph a sleeping baby's teeny tiny toes all day long! Can't wait to see this love again for six month photos (again, yay Baby's First Year Collection!)

My Little Valentine and Her Valentines

This year Valentine cards were all about Marlow enjoying the process of making something for her friends. We opted for free downloadable Valentines thanks to Jones Design Company - yay! And Marlow loved hand painted the back of each card, asking "Who is this one for?!" and deciding what colors they would like. The exercise didn't last long, but we got all 27 of them done all while keeping princess gear in tact. Hope you all had a good Valentine's day!

Keenan Family Photos | Spokane

My dear friend Jenny, her infectious smile, her adorable husband and daughter, and the cutest little baby sister bump. I love how this random, impromptu side of the road location worked out after our other spot got squashed (thank you for trusting me and being flexible!). I've been photographing the Keenans since they were expecting Josie, and I am so honored when I get to continue photographing them as their family grows. It is truly the best. (Here's Jo last year in the beautiful fall leaves at Manito.) The awesome part of photographing year after year is each time Josie has gotten more and more comfortable with me. A little bit quiet and shy at first, I am so rewarded by her sweet smiles and the fact that she will come running towards me now! Love this trio and can't wait to meet baby! Thank you for being such sweet friends and the easiest peasiest of models. :)
