Kling Family | Snow Day Mini Session | Hamblen Park, South Hill Spokane

I'm sohappy I decided to offer Snow Day Mini Sessions during the month of January! I mean the light, the fluffy white snow, the excitement - just a perfect snowy Spokane day. :) I could not be happier. The boys were total troopers in this 9 degree weather! We worked fast and shot this entire mini session in about 20 minutes in Hamblen Park. I love that this nature preserve park provides so much untouched beauty right in the middle our South Hill neighborhood. The snow is starting to melt but it still covers the ground in outlying fields and open areas like this - message me if you want to shoot a mini snow session. For now, enjoy the adorable Kling family!

Baxter Family Photos on the River | Spokane

Meet Lori and Scott and their beautiful family — 5 daughters, 1 son-in-law, 1 grandson, and 1 soon-to-be son in law. You may recognize Sarah, Jake and Westley who I've been with through their son's birth. It was such a pleasure to meet this entire family in the birthing room the day Westley was born, and now photograph them all together. This peaceful (although somewhat sketchy) hidden river spot on a hazy Sunday evening was the perfect location. The whole evening was full of laughter and giggles and hugs and "I want a picture with her, too!"s. It was seriously precious.

A family brought together by the grace of God and held together by the love of these two adoring parents—I was so touched. Scott and Lori, congratulations on this sweet time of life. I can't wait to see what the upcoming months and year hold for you. Can't wait until next time!

Garcia Family | Spring Mini Session | Hamblen Park Spokane

I love how life is funny and the world is small. Tracy and I played softball against each other in high school. Then we met at Gonzaga. Then several years passed by and we found ourselves back here once again. Now we run into each other at Starbucks. From students pulling all nighters to now sleep-deprived moms savoring our daily fuel. :P I got to take family photos of her and her high school sweetheart and their two energetic, adorable boys at Hamblen Park. Life is chaotic and sweet and random and I love it! Happy to always reunite with you Tracy and David! Go Zags.

Bierlink Family | Family Photography | Cheney, WA

I am seriously amazed over and over how small the world is and how incredibly lucky I am to work with the BEST clients/friends ever! Jenae and Kurtis are no exception. We have tons of random connections and got to bond over a fun evening shoot at their new home in Cheney! We got pretty dirty on the backroads, but it was so worth it! They are such a joy. The way Jenae looks at her boys with adoring love. The way Kurtis makes them all smile. The story of how they met and fell in love (which had me laughing out loud at their different takes on it). Excited to see these boys grow over the years! Jenae's favorite mossy gate might have to be a yearly tradition. ;)
Enjoy the Bierlinks.

This was a one hour, full, lifestyle family photography session at their home in Cheney, WA.

Archer turns 7 months old | Spokane Mini Session | Children

This post is a very special one for me. Several reasons.

1. This age is about my favorite ever! (although I say that about every age..ssh) The smiles are happening. Kids are sitting on their own. And most importantly, they're putting on the chub by the handfuls. Yum!

2. This photography journey became "official" for me just 7 months ago with Archer's birth (those photos here).  A day am I forever thankful to have been a part of. Since then, I have met dozens of amazing, sweet families! I am continually overwhelmed by people's kindness, generosity, and appreciation for the photos I give them.

3. This took us 15 minutes. That might not sound like a big deal, but for me it is. It means that I've learned a lot. It means I read Archer and his limits, and personality, read this room and its light, knew my abilities to get it right in camera, knew this age and what positions work, and know that families are busy.

4. The most important thing about this is what his mom Ashley said after. Scroll to the bottom to see her reaction. It is this type of sentiment I hear from clients that makes me happiest of all. It is why I do this.

Now carry on with the scrumptious Mr. Archer and all his expressions! Ladies, brace your ovaries.

I teared up, then I laughed out loud, then I wondered in amazement how you captured this beautiful moment when I hadn’t showered and smelled of baby spit up and sweat. Lol! Seriously, every frame is so great! They are all my favorites. Perma mommy grin over here.

Mini Sessions are the best for birthdays and kiddo milestones when attention spans are short anyway! Or even for husbands for that matter. ;) Oh and don't forget, today we make our relationship Facebook official. Thanks friends!
